Former “Dallas” star Larry Hagman will make a rare prime-time appearance when he guest-stars on an upcoming episode of “Desperate Housewives.”

In the episode, Hagman will play the boyfriend of Stella Wingfield (Polly Bergen), the mother of Lynette (Felicity Huffman).

There’s no word on whether Hagman will appear in more than one “Housewives” episode. He told the Hollywood Reporter he’s never seen the show — and has been catching up on the series by watching episodes on Hulu.com.

Hagman, 79, last appeared on a few episodes of FX’s “Nip/Tuck” and has kept a pretty low TV profile — although there’s talk he could be part of a revived “Dallas” series targeted for cable.
