Network execs took the “I am woman, hear me roar” approach to programming this fall, flooding their schedules with new shows centered around female characters in hopes that audiences would bite.
So far, the tactic seems to be working. All but one of the series — “Prime Suspect” — have received full season pick-ups (the new gold standard for TV shows) and generally produce healthy ratings for the networks.
