LOST IN THE WOODS
BLACKWOODS []
————-
‘BLACKWOODS” is a low rent, direct-to-video-caliber thriller about a writer (Patrick Muldoon) haunted by the memory of the woman he killed while driving drunk on a country road two years earlier.
A romantic weekend with his new girlfriend, Dawn (Keegan Connor Tracy), quickly turns into a nightmare, after she abandons him in a sleazy motel – where he’s attacked by a man with an ax.
After the local sheriff (Michael Paré) doubts his story, our hero is put on trial by the redneck kin of the dead woman – or is it all in his imagination?
Director Uwe Boll and the actors provide scant reason to care in this crude ’70s throwback.
Running time: 90 minutes. Not rated (violence, profanity, sex). At the Village East, Second Avenue and East 12th Street.
