The NCAA Tournament is netting its best viewership in 20 years.

CBS and Turner Sports averaged a combined 9.4 million viewers through the Sweet Sixteen round — the most-watched Sweet Sixteen since 1993, when 10.5 million viewers, on average, tuned in, according to a report yesterday in Sports Business Daily.

It’s also the highest-rated Sweet Sixteen since 1998.

This year’s Sweet Sixteen featured several long-shot teams, including Florida Gulf Coast and La Salle.
