A climber’s ordeal
Danny Boyle, director of “Slumdog Millionaire,” has announced his next project: “127 Hours,” based on the true-life adventures of an American mountain climber, Aron Ralston, Variety reports. Ralston was climbing in Utah in April 2003 when his arm became trapped under a half-ton boulder. He survived by drinking his own urine and escaped by hacking off his own arm with a blunt knife and a pair of pliers. Variety says shooting will start early in 2010, with a release set for late in the year.
