The climactic gang-war scene, a nod to the original’s wacky clash of reps from public TV, Spanish-language news and Ron Burgundy’s other San Diego rivals, features an even bigger slate of unexpected stars, including an Oscar winner, several Oscar nominees and a music superstar. Here’s a guide:

Wearing an afro and a leather jacket, West parachutes in to mix it up with Burgundy’s gang as a rep from MTV News. Ron’s crew wants to know, “What’s MTV?”

Playing a gruff network chief, Ford appears at both the beginning and end of the film. (At the outset, he fires Ron Burgundy while promoting his wife, Veronica.)

He leads a crew from the History Channel, along with Stonewall Jackson’s ghost (John C. Reilly).

He’s the polite Canadian news anchor, the guy who keeps saying “Sorry” and “Excuse me” during the rumble.

The Oscar-winning French actress plays Carrey’s news partner from Francophone Canada.

In a moment that’s surreal even by “Anchorman” standards, she appears on an arch above it all, as the angel who blows the horn to start the gang fight.

Ron’s old Channel 9 news rival roars in at the head of a motorcycle crew.

The “Borat” Oscar nominee and “Talladega Nights” co-star turns up as the snooty reporter from BBC News.

Maybe Will’s trying to loosen up, or maybe he just wants to forget he did “Men in Black 3” instead of “Django Unchained.” He pops up as the head of another network crew.

TV’s besties are back, this time in prim little suits as reps of an entertainment news program.
