A French noir classic is to be remade by one of Asia’s top directors, John Woo. In a call from Beijing, Woo told me he planned a redo of Jean-Pierre Melville’s “Le Samourai”  (1967), which features Alain Delon as a super-cool hitman. The new cast is yet to be chosen, said Woo, whose epic war movie “Red Cliff” opens here Nov. 18. For more on what Woo told me, see my Cine File column on Sunday.
