What a shock. Soundbite from “Slumdog Millionaire” producer Christian Colson: “I’d like to acknowledge the blood, sweat and tears of our cast. The film you saw is the film Danny Boyle imagined and it’s very rare you can say that. He dreamed the dream, 24 hours a day, seven days a week for two and a half years. I’d like to share this award with the people of Mumbai.” And that’s it for this year’s British Academy Awards, which have a good track record of predicting the Oscars — they’re in two weeks. Last year, their choices matched Oscar’s in all four acting categories, though their best picture pick was “Atonement,” while the academy went with “No Country for Old Men.”
