So you thought the world’s film critics were in Cannes to watch movies? “Jerry Seinfeld is standing just a foot or two over my head, perched on a platform on the edge of the roof of the legendary Carlton Hotel,” Kenneth Turanfiles breathelssly back to the L.A. Times. “He’s wearing an enormous bee costume, complete with head. And he’s talking to me. ‘Hey, Kenny,’ says the writer, producer and star of the forthcoming ‘Bee Movie.’ ‘There’s nothing I hate more than anything that smacks of desperation in the promotion of a movie.’ Except journalists trying to justify a 10-day all-expenses paid trip to the French Riviera to their editors back home. I know, I did the same thing when Angelina Jolie went jet skiing in Cannes back in ’04 to promote “A Shark’s Tale.”
