Hollywood again lays waste to the Big Apple — continuing in the proud post-9/11 tradition of “I Am Legend” and “Cloverfield” — with “The Incredible Hulk.” In his exclusive shot-by-shot analysis of the new trailer at Empire Online, director Louis Letterlier says of the above brawl featuring the Hulk (Edward Norton, reportedly threatening not to do publicity if he doesn’t get final cut) and Abomination (Tim Roth) on 125th Street: “This sequence is toward the end of the movie. But our final scene, our final battle â unlike a normal movie where the final fight scene is six minutes long, ours is 26 minutes long! So you get 26 minutes of two monsters pummelling each other through New York City, jumping up and down, ripping helicopters from the sky and stuff. You know, lots of green blood on the street, splashed all around. So itâs pretty cool. For me it was one of the most exciting elements of making the movie: âI have two monsters fighting in New York City, thatâs going to be fun.â You know, how do you come up with fun, original stuff? And youâve seen just the beginning of the face-off, with the monsters running towards each other â BOOM! â they smash into each other, and then craziness ensues. Some humans try to get out of the way but no, they canât⦠thereâs a little bit of collateral damage! (Laughs) Thereâs a bit of a bodycount…”
