“Terminator Salvation” rang up a solid but unspectacular $13.3M on opening day, including $3 million for midnight shows,
the Hollywood Reporter, which is predicting it will take the weekend with $70 million through Monday. Others think it will come in second to the dreadful family fantasy “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian,” opening today, with forecasts running as high as $85 million for the three-day Memorial Day weekend. It’s unusual in recent for two megabudget event movies to go up against each other in this slot.
