“Angels & Demons,” Ron Howard‘s sequel to “The Da Vinci Code,” doesn’t seem to be creating the controversy or excitement of its predecessor, which opened to $77 million. Gitesh Pandya at Box Office Guru is predicting $53 million from Friday to Sunday. He sees “Star Trek” in second place with $37 million, which would give the latter $143 million in the bank over 10 days. “Angels & Demons” has gotten better reviews than “The Da Vinci Code,” but not stellar ones. It’s averaging 37 percent positive reviews at and is awarded 2.5 stars by Kyle Smith.
