Surpassing expectations, “Iron Man” sold a whopping estimated $100.75 million worth of tickets over the weekend, the second-best non-sequel opening since the original “Spider-Man” in 2002 and the eighth biggest opener of all time, at least before dolllar figures are adjusted for inflation. When Thursday night’s 8 p.m. screenings are included, the season’s first blockbuster is estimated to have banked $104 million in the U.S. and Canada alone by tonight, plus another $97 million overseas. “Made of Honor,” a poorly reviewed romantic comedy with Patrick Dempsey that skewed heavily to women over 25, limped into second place with an estimated $15.5 million.
