Tracking indicates Lionsgate’s “Kick-Ass” will bow at No. 1 with a number in the high 20 millions, though that may depend on how many under-17s (the apparent target audience) manage to sneak into a flick that features hard-R action and an 11-year-old who uses the C-word. The reviews are 75 percent favorable at Rotten Tomatoes, with our very own Kyle Smith weighing in with a 3.5 star notice. Neil LaBute and Sony’s remake of the Britcom “Death at a Funeral” with Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence gets two stars from yours truly and a 43 at Rotten Tomatoes and is predicted to land in the high teens, around the same territory as DreamWorks’ holdover “How to Train Your Dragon.”
