Tim Burton is a fan of 3D, which has made “Alice in Wonderland” the biggest success of his career. But in an interview making its way around the interwebs, he worries about Hollywood’s coming flood of three dimensional movies. “We’re surely going to see a lot of bad 3D films in the near future, because Hollywood cannibalizes every recipe for success,” he is quoted at various sites as saying. “That’s how the industry works…It’s a great thing when you use it as a technical tool and not as a wonder weapon.” It was bad movies — plus the headaches induced by the technique, not to mention audience boredom — that killed off the 3D booms of the ’50s and ’80s.
