Inquiring minds want to know, after having seen the winter’s surprise blockbuster “Black Swan” (has this movie made more than all other ballet flicks in history combined?): is it just possible that dancing the lead in that role can drive a girl kind of crazy? The principal dancer doing the role now for the New York City Ballet says, well, the part is pretty intense: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704858404576128373162272838.html?mod=WSJ_LifeStyle_Lifestyle_5

So: maybe it kinda does take a mental toll. As I’ve said before: “Black Swan” is basically Jack Torrance in a tutu. All work and no play make Natalie a very unhappy girl.
