The Cannes Film Festival will celebrate its 60th anniversary with what is described by Variety as a top-secret film consisting of new short sequences it commissioned from past winners of the festival’s top honor, the Palm D’Or.

The trade paper says it’s confirmed that Gus Van Sant, Michael Cimino, Wong Kar-Wai, Wim Wenders, Lars von Trier, Amos Gitai, Abbas Kirostami, Chen Kaige and Tsai Ming-Liang are among the participants. Other possible contributors include Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch, the Coen Brothers and Emir Kusturica.

Van Sant and the Coens were among the contributors to the underwhelming “Paris je t’aime,” a typically uneven omnibus film that premiered at last year’s Cannes Festival — along with Alexander Payne, Tom Tykwer, Alfonso Cuaron, Wes Craven, Walter Salles, Gerard Depardieu, and many others. It’s scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 4.
