Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” will be ready on time and will definitely premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Variety reports. The World War II epic starring Brad Pitt will join the previously revealed opening night film, Pixar’s 3-D “Up.” It’s set to open stateside on Aug. 21, but don’t be surprised if it gets delayed if you-know-who smells Oscars or has trouble coming up with enough scratch for a big opening. Or both. Cannes is supposed to announce the rest of its slate on April 23. According to persistent reports, it will likely include the world premiere of “Terminator: Salvation” and Pedro Almodovar‘s “Broken Embraces” starring Penelope Cruz.
