Casting Harvey Weinstein
Some fairly obscure filmmakers have acquired the rights to Peter Biskin’s book “Down and Dirty Pictures,” an expose of the indie movement (especially the Sundance Film Festival and the old Miramax), Fox News Channel’s Roger Friedmanreports — and they’re apparently trying to cast the book’s two main bad guys, Robert Redford and Harvey Weinstein. Redford’s a tough one, but I’ve got a suggestion for Harvey. Lookalike comedian Jeff Garlin (pictured) actually played a movie mogul billed as “Harvey, probably” in Steven Soderbergh’s “Full Frontal,” which was produced by the Weinsteins in 2002 — one of many flops that cued their split with Disney.
