Actually, CBS subsidiary Cinema Center Films cranked out 39 films between 1968 and 1972, including “With Six You Get Eggroll,” “The Boys in the Band” and “Big Jake” — all distributed through National General Pictures until CCF and NGP both drowned in a sea of red ink. CBS was also one of the original partners in Tri-Star Pictures (along with HBO and the Coca Cola Co.) in 1982 but dropped out after two years. HBO jumped ship five years later, and Coke merged Tri-Star (which lost the hypen in 1991) with Columbia Pictures, which Coke also owned at the time. Today Sony Pictures Entertainment uses TriStar as a alias for some of its more dubious indie product like last year’s Al Pacino bomb “88 Minutes.” (Logos: CBS via
