“The Dark Knight” star Christian Bale will step in to Steve Jobs’ billion-dollar shoes for the yet-to-be titled biopic centered on the iconic innovator. Based on the book “Steve Jobs” by Walter Issacson, Academy Award-winning screen writer Aaron Sorkin confirmed the casting on Thursday.

“We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range, and that’s Chris Bale,” Sorkin explained via Bloomberg News. “He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined.”

This isn’t the first time Bale’s name has been attached to the project. Before he was cast in the lead role, rumors surfaced that the “Exodus: Gods and Kings” actor was in the running, along with Matt Damon, Bradley Cooper and Ben Affleck.

While a release date has yet to be set, critically acclaimed filmmaker Danny Boyle will direct.
