On Thursday I will be jetting to the historic Czech Republic spa town Karlovy Vary for the 45th edition of the city’s film festival, one of the oldest and most important in Europe. Some 180 features (12 in competition) will unreel and awards will be presented to Brit actor Jude Law and Russian filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov (“Burnt by the Sun”). Two of the most interesting sounding features are “Mother Teresa of Cats” (Poland) and “Hitler in Hollywood” (Begium/France). Keep an eye on this blog for my reports from the festival.
