Star Wars fans got their first look at a galaxy far, far away when a detailed model of Disney’s Star Wars-themed parks were unveiled at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California on Thursday.
The exhibition, on display in Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, depicts a intricate array of terrain and buildings inspired by Star Wars universe.
“To say we are excited for the Star Wars-themed lands to open in 2019 is an understatement,” chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Bob Chapek said.
“All along, we have said this will be game-changing, and through the model we can begin to see how truly epic these immersive new worlds will be.”
The exhibit includes a life-size Millennium Falcon and TIE fighter, in addition to a market such as the ones seen on Tatooine or Naboo.
The two Star Wars-themed lands are under development at the Anaheim park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Fla.
