Disney is attempting to right the listing “At the Movies” by getting rid of the much-ridiculed blurbmeister Ben Lyons of E!, as well as the more respected Ben Mankiewicz of Turner Classic Movies. The seats once held by Roger Ebert and the late Gene Siskel will be filled, beginning next month, by a pair of actual print critics: A.O. Scott of the New York Times and Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune. Both of them have previously and frequently filled in as guest hosts opposite both Ebert and his hand-picked Siskel replacement, Richard Roeper, who carried on after Ebert loss his ability to speak following an operation. Roeper was sacked by Disney last year.
