In today’s Post, I pay a visit to the new IMAX screen at the Empire on 42nd Street — which is five stories shorter and more than 40 feet less wide than the eight-story monster at the Lincoln Square. But they’re still charging a premium for these smaller size screens, which are cheaper for theater chains to install in existing multiplexes. But is it really a comparable “IMAX experience”?
