As widely anticipated, Fox announced today that a 2-D “Avatar” will debut on Blu-ray and DVD on April 22 in North America. No special features are listed in the studio’s release. As we noted last week, an expanded 3-D version is reportedly hitting theaters in late August or early fall, with a presumably full-featured video release in 3-D following either late this year or sometime in 2011.
