We doubt anyone except Bob and Harvey cares that “Awake,” the only wide opener this snoozy go-round, is expected to finish the weekend in seventh place with $5.5 million, based on projections by Steve Mason at Fantasy Moguls. The real news is that the well-reviewed “The Savages” (with Philip Bosco, Laura Linney, Philip Seymour Hoffman and director Tamara Jenkins, pictured) is expected to average $40,000 per venue over its first weekend at four locations. Julian Schnabel’s even more esctatically reviewed “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” is averaging a projected $26,000 at three venues, extraordinaire for a French-language film with no major stars.
