Sigourney Weaver: I’ve heard a little about it. I wouldn’t call it a third one. I’d call it a first one of a different series. I wasn’t planning to be a part of it. I was hoping they’d have a character named Oscar who was ostensibly Dana’s son. I think it’s great. I know they have everyone’s blessing, and they certainly have mine. I hope they can bring this movie to a whole other generation of young Ghostbusters.

Reitman: I was the full producer and the director of the first two movies. I’d be hard-pressed not to take [rumors of the new movie] seriously. We have this company together where we all have veto power over the whole thing, and our interest together is to make another good one. It’s really hard. We have a script being written, and all I’ve read is an outline about a year ago. Assuming the script is promising, we’ll start moving forward and I’ll start getting more involved with an eye towards directing it.
