Paramount is playing the old rolling embargo game with J.J. Abrams’ much-anticipated “Super 8.” Fanboy bloggers have been allowed, or encouraged, to post their rave notices of this Spielberg production before daily critics have even seen this sci-fi epic set in 1979. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there’s another wave of reviews from the trades and the weeklies (hello, Peter Travers!) surfaces before the official all-media screening Tuesday night in New York. Update: My colleague Sara Stewart tells me that a showing at the Paramount screening room was packed with the likes of EW’s Owen Gleiberman.
