They’ll be no freedom fries for the singularly named Kyle, who is wearing his beret at a particularly jaunty angle today to survey the annual Rendez-Vous With French Cinema film series at Lincoln Center and the IFC Center. Between bites on our croque monsieur, the offering that really caught our eye was “One to Another,” which Kyle irresistably describes as “an X-rated Nancy Drew.” Does Warner Bros. know about this? Does V.A. Musetto?

Speaking of our beloved senior film critic, who has recently started contributing to this blog, his review today of “Wild Tigers I Have Known” compares this debut feature from 24-year-old Cam Archer, a protege of Gus Van Sant, to two of my favorite features from recent years, “Mysterious Skin” and “Tarnation.” Sounds like it’s worth catching at the IFC Center between French flicks.
