Just when I was convinced that no financing entity in its right mind would fund “The Danish Couple” starring Nicole Kidman as the world’s first post-op male-to-female trannsexual, word comes that one of my other “favorite” Oscar winners, Gwyneth Paltrow, has signed on to play Kidman’s wife. This dubious-sounding proposition — starring two actresses who have specialized in them — will be directed by Thomas Alfredson (“Let the Right One In”) and is adapted from David Ebershoff’s book about Einar Wegener, who decided to get in touch with his feminine side in a big way after his painter wife asked him to pinch-hit for a female model.
