Anti-smoking forces are fuming because the delightful “Hairspray,” the first film to be released with a citation for smoking since the rating board changed its policy in May, drew only a PG, I report in The Post today. Also rated PG for reasons that include “brief” smoking are the following upcoming flicks: “The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep,” “Guarding Eddy,” “In the Shadow of the Moon” and “The Redemption of Sarah Cain.” Three upcoming PG-13 flicks include smoking in what the MPAA calls “descriptors”: “Definitely, Maybe,” “December Boys” and “Run, Fat Boy, Run.” An MPAA flak claimed that “lots” of flicks were cited for reasons that included smoking before the policy was formalized, but despite much prodding on my part she could produce only one title, “Uncle Nino,” an obscure 2004 indie.
