If “Chef” didn’t whet your appetite this weekend, perhaps this next culinary film will.

“The Hundred-Foot Journey” stars Helen Mirren as the chef of a Michelin-starred restaurant in the south of France. When a family comes to town to open an Indian restaurant across the street, she doesn’t take to kindly to the idea.

Eventually, though, she realizes the talents of the family’s son (Manish Dayal) and begins to train him in her craft. Ultimately, he’ll have to decide which path to continue down.

Based on the bestselling book of the same name, the film comes from the director of “Chocolat” and is produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg, reunited almost 30 years after “The Color Purple.”

“The Hundred-Foot Journey” makes its way to theaters Aug. 8.
