Variety thinks “Disturbia,” a by-the-numbers “Rear Window” knockoff showcasing Shia LaBoeuf (which scored 60 percent favorable reviews at Rotten Tomatoes, though I didn’t think it was much more than mediocre) will fare best among the six wide openers at the box-office this weekend. But most prognosticators give the edge to the preposterousHalle Berry-Bruce Willis thriller “Perfect Stranger,” which is hovering around 12 percent favorable, with a ticket sales in the mid-teens. It’s an open question whether it will be do well enough to dislodge “Blades of Glory” from finishing a third week in the top spot, though. The other wide openers are the long-shelved Vikings vs. Native Americans opus (no, not a sports movie) “Pathfinder” and the animated “Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie for Theaters,” which Kyle says is a hoot. There are two other flicks opening in many theaters that weren’t good enough to screen in advance for critics. Kyle will review “Slow Burn,” a political thriller with the unfortunate Ray Liotta, while I am gearing up to see the automotive-oriented “Redline” starring Eddie Griffin. Our notices will appear tomorrow, but if you just can’t wait, there are some unpromising early verdicts at RT.
