Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow may be one of the most well-known pirates in movie history, but it looks like he’s about to have some stiff competition.

On Tuesday, the first teaser trailer for the fantasy flick “Pan” hit the Web — and unlike NBC’s upcoming live production of J.M. Barrie’s classic tale, “Pan” is putting a darker spin on the story.

Starring Hugh Jackman as the terrifying swashbuckler Blackbeard, “Pan” follows the story of young orphan Peter (newcomer Levi Miller) as he escapes a rundown orphanage for Neverland. Along the way, Peter joins forces with a very handsome (and two-handed) Hook (Garrett Hedlund) and the sassy Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara).

While the clip only gives viewers a glimpse of Peter’s journey, this adventure is definitely just the beginning of the lost boy’s legacy.
