Anticipation has reached a fever pitch for today’s big-screen release of “The Hunger Games.” The Lionsgate film based on the best-selling novel is expected to make $130-140 million this weekend, giving it the biggest March opening of all time. As of Thursday morning, more than 4,300 screenings were sold out, according to Fandango and Movietickets.com.

The movie also has a 87% freshness rating on rottentomatoes.com, so it could be a critical smash as well.
