Marvel has released a clip from, presumably, the forthcoming “Iron Man 2” DVD, which shows an alternate first scene opening on a, shall we say, blatantly hungover Tony Stark. Yes, it’s a little icky. It’s also funny and quirky and a lot like the tone of the first movie, and the fact that they scrapped it to open with the testosterone-fueled leap from the plane says a lot about why, IMO, the second movie made the wrong choices and turned out pretty disappointing. According to sci-fi site io9, part of this alternate scene was originally included in trailers, and “when you’re listing cool scenes that were in movie trailers, but not in the actual movie, the Iron Man 2 scene where Pepper kisses Tony’s helmet and tosses it away, and he says “You complete me,” would be up there.” Agree.
