Dark Horse Comics, who published the original series by Frank Miller upon which Zack Snyder’s “300” was based, today released an image from the upcoming comics prequel. The series will be called “Xerxes,” and it should hit racks sometime in 2011. In March, Snyder said that the “Xerxes” adaptation would be his next project, but it’s unclear if he can begin pre-production before the comic series has wrapped up publication.

Oh, and of course the movie will most likely be in 3-D.
