It’s been a good week for summer blockbuster hype, with the release of trailers for “Iron Man 2” and “Tron Legacy” and “Eclipse.” But the movie that’s got us truly curious is “Splice,” a smaller sci-fi pic executive-produced by Guillermo del Toro (“Pan’s Labyrinth”), who knows his stuff when it comes to sophisticated, gorgeous horror fare. Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley star as genetic engineers who concoct a sentient animal-human hybrid…which here looks sort of like a Perdue chicken crossed with a hamster. The movie premiered at Sundance this year and will be released by Warner Bros. on June 4.
