As Jessica Chastain’s hard nosed roles in “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Debt” have proven, she’s no shrinking violet.

So it makes sense that Chastain would pose as Merida, the Scottish heroine from Disney’s 2012 movie “Brave,” in a new ad for the company’s theme parks shot by famed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

In the photo, the 36-year-old actress displays her trademark crimson tresses while preparing to fire an arrow from her bow.

The striking image is the latest entry in the Disney Dream Portraits campaign, where celebrities are transformed into fantastical Disney characters.

Previous participants in the series, all of whom have been shot by Leibovitz, include Jennifer Hudson as Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog,” Taylor Swift as Rapunzel from “Tangled” and Russell Brand as Peter Pan’s nemesis, Captain Hook.
