After years of false starts, the John Travolta-led John “Dapper Don” Gotti biopic has been revived by a new set of Hollywood backers.
EFO Films, Fiore Films, and Herrick Entertainment jointly announced they’d produce the film, with actor Kevin Connolly set to direct.
The long-gestating project has had several potential directors attached over the years, including Nick Cassavetes and Barry Levinson.
Connolly is best known for his supporting role on the HBO series “Entourage.”
John Gotti Jr., son of John “Junior” Gotti and grandson of the Dapper Don, tweeted at Connolly: “I have faith u in you will be great.”
Connolly responded: “Thanks bud.”
