Widespread skepticism across the blogophere has greeted Vanity Fair’s claim that it’s pulling the plug on its annual Oscar night party because of the writers strike, which seems on the verge of settlement. Most observers blame the economy. If that’s true, that raises the question: will VF also bail on the bash it throws the night before the Tribeca Film Festival? And, if so, what excuse will it use for the cancellation?
