Barry Levinson’s “What Just Happened” underwhelmed critics and buyers at the Sundance Film Festival — the $30 million Robert DeNiro Hollywood comedy is still for sale — but that didn’t stop Robert Redford from signing up the director of “The Natural” to direct his upcoming production of the long-in-the-works “A Walk in the Woods,” The Hollywood Reporter says. Redford will star as writer Bill Bryson, who hiked the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail with an ex-alcoholic friend. The latter role was going to be played by Paul Newman before Redford’s old co-star decided to retire last year.
