A day after he practiced at the New York Film Critics Circle awards dinner, Javier Bardem knocks it out of the park accepting the supporting actor award for “No Country for Old Men.” Possibly he realizes he wasn’t going to get a chance to show off his humility at the now-cancelled Golden Globes next Sunday. “I feel like I won the lottery tonight,” Bardem says, lavishing praise on the other nominees. At least one, Hal Holbrook, is actually in the audience. Later, Hughley asks Bardem who was his inspiration for his murderous character. “I was thinking of some Mr. Bush,” Bardem said to much laughter. Hope he doesn’t need a visa extension soon.
