A suprisingly funny Robert DeNiro quips that he wishes there were more members of the HFPA on hand, “but many of them were deported before the show, along the waiters.” He also noted that the award was announcement before the HPFA got to see “Meet the Fockers,” and recited a list of his flops that didn’t make the tribute reel, including “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein,” “Stanley and Iris” and “Jacknife.” He said a collection of screeners would be available in the lobby “for those of you who want to see them for the first time.”
