The biggest shock this morning in this morning’s announcement from the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. is the snubbing of “Milk” except for Sean Penn’s lead performance. Maybe it was just too American for their European tastes. Possibly that’s why they also ignored Clint Eastwood’s career-capping performance in “Gran Torino.”
