Just when it looked like “Atonement” might get shut out on its seven nominations (the most this year), the World War II romance cops Best Picture in the Drama category. For a long time the nominal Oscar frontrunner, “Atonement” has been ignored by pretty much all the critics’ awards, and at the very least the top Globe should give it a spurt at the box office, where it was clinging to 10th place this weekend. The Oscar nomination ballots closed yesterday, and I think “Atonement” will make it into the final five. If so, the Globe win can’t hurt.
