Josh Brolin of “Milk” upset the late Heath Ledger of “The Dark Knight” to take the best supporting actor award from the NYFCC. On the second weighted ballot, Ledger, Brolin and Eddie Marsan (“Happy Go Lucky”) were tied with 29 points apiece, but on the third Brolin emerged the winner with 33 points, to 26 for Ledger and 24 for Robert Downey Jr. of “Tropic Thunder.” The L.A. critics went with Ledger.
