The first acting award of the evening, for supporting actor, goes to the sublime Javier Bardem, who delivers much of his speech in Spanish. Which is at least different from his several other acceptances so far this season. Nice shot of him hugging his mother afterwards. It’s the first win of the evening for “No Country for Old Men,” which is up for seven other awards. So far, the show seems very low-key. And Stewart and his writers could have used another week or two to work on his material. I’m 4 for 6 on my predictions.
