Predictons that “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” would set a new record for Oscar shutouts in all 13 categories failed to come true, as it snagged awards for Art Direction and Makeup — categories where “The Dark Knight” scored its first two losses of the evening. The award for Costumes went, as expected, to “The Duchess.” This set of awards were presented by S.J. Parker and Daniel Craig. I predicted all three, so I am now 6 for 8. The show seems to be running only a minute behind schedule at this point.
